      Hi incom,

My favorite dish is Korean Bul Go Gee – a form of bbq’ed beef. It’s surprisingly easy to make — the secret is in the marinade. This is my recipe:

1-2 T sesame seeds Toast gentle in a frying pan until golden and remove from heat. Crush in a mixer or with a mortar.

      9 T soy sauce
      3 T sesame seed oil
      3 T sugar
      fresh grated gingerroot
      ground black pepper
      2-3 cloves of crushed garlic
      4-6 diced green onions
1 T Korean hot, red bean paste [This is the must-have ingredient but you can get it at any Korean grocer. It’s a staple ingredient for lots of Korean food]
      (crushed sesame seeds)
      Mix thoroughly into a marinade.

Beef, cut into then slices There is a tradeoff between thin beef slices which are most tender and the type of grill being used. Typical BBQs require slightly thicker pieces of meat so they don’t fall into the grill which in turn requires more tender (better quality) beef. Marinate the beef for 30min or more. The longer it marinates, the more tender it becomes. Grill the beef lightly and serve over short grain rice.
