      It was the most interesting job I was offered!

      Seriously though, I find it fascinating that such tiny changes in the way individual cells work can have such huge effects on the way a persons brain works. Also, we know very little about it so far, so as a scientist you have lots of room to conduct experiments and try to figure things out. Ultimately though, its nice to think that the work I am doing will (hopefully!) benefit someone in the long run.
