It seems to be working ok, yes. 😉

I would use the money to present some of our recent findings to a big international conference of neuroscientists. My students and I have had some exciting results and it’d be a great chance to tell others about them and get some feedback from them. It’s also a great chance to learn what other groups are doing and hear about exciting new discoveries that might help our work too.

I believe the idea of the prize money is that we use it to “communicate” our work in some way. I was thinking of using it to present my work to other scientists from around the world at an international conference (a good way to meet other scientists and pool resources for larger experiments).

However if you have a better idea for how to “communiate” it (maybe to schools for instance), then I am happy to take suggestions!

      Hello

      It’s working!

If I won the money I would organise a schools event about the science of sounds and the brain. I’d bring along some human beatboxers to help me illustrate some of the cool ways we can make sounds, and how our brains respond to them. I’ve written more about it on my profile page – take a look!

Hi there! I would use the money to contribute to the science activities at my local secondary school. I have checked them out and I like the activities they do. In the past they have organised nice events such as bringing scientists to explain about how the heart works, or have organised trips from the students to laboratories to see how science is done. As this is the kind of events that attracted me to science I think it’s a good idea to give the money to them. I don’t plan it spend it in new inventions, sorry 🙁

I would use the money to go into schools to talk to students about animal behaviour and how we can have good relationships with our pets and have well behaved pets. Unfortunately I am not very good at inventing things!

      Anne 🙂
