      21 September 1982 with Sue Eichhorn. I was 13.

      Well I had a wee girlfriend at infant school, but I’m guessing that doesnt count.

      My first real date probably wasn’t until year 10 (I was more than a bit of a dork earlier down in the school). Am now happily married though (to a lass I met at university).

      Well, you know — you never forget your first date 🙂 Actually, I remember Sue really well. She was nice (and an older woman — she was 15 and I was 13…what a coup!)

    Yeah, I was feeling old as I typed it. I’m definitely the old man of our group! When someone asked how long did it take to become a scientist, I had to admit it 14 years from when I finished uni to my first independent job. Most of the kids are only 14 now!
