I would love it if you vote for me, as it’s nice to be liked and I would hope it would be because you have enjoyed reading about what I do and my answers to the questions over the week. I’d be really pleased about your vote, even if I get evicted today! However, if I managed to win the competition, I’m really committed to organising the beatboxing & science schools event that I’ve described on my profile page. I’ve been talking to some students on here this week who seem really interested in music and in beatboxing, and I think that my event would be a great way to get people talking about sounds, and how our brains process them. There are lots of careers that involve close work with speech and sound – musical performance, engineering, record producing, audiology, translating, speech therapy and many more. I’d hope that my event could get people thinking about all of these possibilities, as well as finding out a bit more about neuroscience. How does it sound to you?
Hello there! As I would use the money to help the science activities of my local secondary school, the overall benefit would be to help scientists and students to communicate with each other. And perhaps inspire some young people to see whether they would enjoy being scientists!
Well obviously it would make me happy! It would also keep me able to keep answering these questions for the rest of the week.
If I won I would probably use the mney to present my work at an international confernece. This would give me the chance to meet other scientists from around the world who are working on the same problems as me (trying to figure out what causes schziophrenia as me). Hopefully this will lead to us being able to exchange ideas and maybe even come up with new ways to collaborate and work together.
