• Question: Hi joe: i have enjoyed being a part of your fourtune if you win and i hope that i could win something to,we can win money for the best questions we ask, i dont have alot of questions left in my brain but i would really like it if you answered my question for the last time. So here goes. I know that conjoined twins is caused by a fail in birth but when they get seperated do they still have the normall amount of cromosones. And do they both have the same dreams or telepathic dreams. P.S. i am in the chat room you like ninjas better than pirates and you alsso like gingers well i have one thing to say i am ginger an i love you for that

      Hey dude — thanks for all your excellent questions and comments. They’ve been fantastic!

      As far as I know, conjoined twins have the normal complement of chromosomes, yes. In fact, each cell (other than gametes and zygotes) have the full set, so it doesn’t matter than the twins share tissue or structures — genetically each is a whole person.

      I don’t know about their dreams but my guess is that they have no special link there. Like any brothers or sisters they probably sometimes have similar dreams because of shared experiences — and this may be especially true for conjoined twins — but I would guess there is no telepathy going on there.
